Our Standing Committee

Today, ICW has 25 standing committee coordinators and advisors to influence policies by developing the plans of action and disseminating important information to ICW members on elimination of discrimination, violence against women, equal rights and opportunities for all, equal rights and access healthcare and, social protection for child and family, education, environmental and other issues of concern.

Advisors and co-ordinators are required to gather information related to their portfolios from affiliated National Councils of Women so as to be able to report to the ICW-CIF and share this information with the ICW-CIF Permanent Representatives to the UN.

Board Members Mazal Renford and Saïda Zniber are in charge of our Standing Committee. Life Member Elisabeth Newman AM continues to guide and advise them with her vast experience.

Our Permanent Representatives

Permanent Representatives represent the International Council of Women (ICW-CIF) at the U.N. and any other Organizations where it has consultative status.

• Permanent Representatives attend meetings of the Organization to which they have been appointed to.
• Permanent Representatives prepare statements on the basis of the objectives and the policy of the ICW.
• Permanent Representatives share information with the Standing Committees, the affiliated National Councils and the Board.
• Permanent Representatives coordinate their action with that of other NGOs having similar aims.
